Preserving the rich history of Winfield, Illinois.
In the 1850's transportation from place to place was via horse, horse and buggy or on the newest thing - trains.
These huge behemoths of iron and steel carried tons of cargo and wealthy passengers from places like Chicago westward to towns like Winfield, Naperville, Turner Junction and beyond.
Little hubs of activity arose around the places where the beasts stopped - the stations. Hedges Station was just such a place.
